I found an article relating to the memex called Trailfire: Building Vannevar's Memex. In this article it talks about bookmarking site, Trailfire, and how it's different from other sites like Stumbleupon. Trailfire allows users to share bookmarks and it is described as "a way to let bloggers place multimedia rich comments on any Web page and automatically link related Web pages to form a trail, or navigation path". This is relevant because it is similar to the goal of the Memex. Each system was designed to enable users to build navigation trails of links and annotations (i.e. the idea of hypertext).
It's interesting that although Bush's Memex idea was created over 60 years ago, his main ideas of linking things together and creating trails are still being used today. The owner of the website even went further to say that Bush was an inspiration when creating the website and this is not all merely coincidence.
