At first, it
took us a while to decide which category to choose. Many of the ones we clicked
on said no quests available. We settled on the UW campus tour, but did not
complete the entire tour because it would take an hour and a half and it was
very cold outside. We did however; do the first few to get a feel for the app. The
quest was very simple. It took us to Memorial Union to start, gave us a brief
history on the building, and then told us to move on to the Armory (by using
witty commentary). Overall, we thought the game was rudimentary considering we
could’ve found the information online rather than walk around to the buildings.
It we had never been on campus then it might be a neat way to experience
Madison if you didn’t have a tour guide. If they made Aris into a social media
site where the more quests you did the more points you earned and you can
compare your points with your friends, then the app may be more successful.
I agree with your last statement. If it was somewhat more gamish (for lack of a better word,) I would've enjoyed it more. It just felt educational to me.
