thanksgiving conversation

I talked to my mom about her use technological use. She said the computer, which makes sense in this day-in-age. She uses it for email mainly plus the usual presentations and projects in excel. She did not learn how to use a computer until College. And it wasn't until she was in the workforce that she had to learn how to use all the features of computer. She is a pretty naturally tech savvy person, so learning the computer was not that hard. It was easier in the beginning, when less was changing and she was more in-tune with the changes. Now it may not be harder to figure out the new emailing system than it was to figure out how email worked for the first time, but it is more frustrating. When I asked her about if I thought the computer was helpful in making the work day more effective she thought it was. She believed that it was a very good thing to use. Going through emails is annoying, but having the quick messaging system is still very good. Plus, being able to use the Internet to find information is a big help. When I asked if she enjoyed her job more now that she has a computer she couldn't really answer. A computer is such a big component of her job it would be much harder to do. So without a computer she thinks she would enjoy it less, just because it would be so very hard to get in contact with everyone. A computer is a very big part of my Mom's job.
