Thanksgiving Weekend

     Over the weekend, I interviewed my mom who was an art director at VF (25 years ago). To her, the most important information technology was her landline phone. That was the only way she had to communicate with her printer, designers, photographers,modeling agencies, ad agency, and retailers. She kept a rolodex by the phone of all her contacts because she had no smart phone to store her contacts in. This worked fine for her and she didn't feel inconvenienced at all, although she said if she were doing it now it would be a totally different thing, she would avoid the phone at all costs. She would be able to handle all her appointments and details online or via text, she would rarely have to leave a message or return a phone call, which would've save so much time. I thought this was interesting because we have it so easy now with cell phones. If someone had this job now, it would seem very difficult and unnecessary.
